LONDON, United Kingdom (August 10, 2015) – Game Music Connect organizers today announced its new expanded programme for the third annual international video game music conference which returns to The Purcell Room at London’s Southbank Centre on September 15, dubbed “the video game music industry’s event of the year” by Classic FM.
Building on the conference’s popular symposium format, “Game Music React 2015” will feature a dedicated interactive music masterclass from Audiokinetic’s co-founder Simon Ashby, examining the differences between scoring for video games and other media and demonstrating how to structure and implement interactive music for video games with the Wwise interactive music system.
Also, new for this year’s conference, Game Music Connect 2015 presents “Creating Virtual Orchestras” featuring the world-leading Spitfire Audio sample library company demonstrating the process of creating orchestral and other sample libraries in discussion with power user composers working in film, television, and video games.
In addition to an already impressive line-up of video game and music industry professionals, A-list composer agent and orchestral contractor Darrell Alexander (COOL Music) and Director of Music for Sony Computer Entertainment America Worldwide Studios, Chuck Doud will join this year’s roundtable discussion on the process and business of creating, planning, recording, and delivering orchestral music for games in “Score To Studio 2.“
As in past years, Game Music Connect delegates will also be invited to meet and connect with the speakers, panelists, and other attendees during an expanded post-show networking hour.
Now in its third year, Game Music Connect is for aspiring and professional composers of all backgrounds and those interested in learning about the art, science, and business of creating today’s cutting-edge video game soundtracks – featuring talks, practical demonstrations, and round-table discussions with some of the world’s leading composers, industry executives, audio directors, and talent agents in the world of music for video games.
