Scarlet Moon Records is thrilled to announce the follow-up to 2014’s acclaimed game music lullaby album with Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies Volume II. Gaming’s greatest melodies have once again been arranged to sooth and relax, performed live by GENTLE LOVE, which features saxophonist Norihiko Hibino (Metal Gear Solid and Bayonetta series composer) and pianist AYAKI. The album is fully licensed and will be released on LOUDR and other digital retailers on April 27, 2015.
Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies Volume II will include music from classic titles such as the Final Fantasy, The Elder Scrolls, and DuckTales franchises, as well as from new fan-favorites. The goal with this volume was to include music that wasn’t originally conducive to sleep and present it in a way to not only surprise and delight listeners, but to hopefully lull them into a state of relaxation.
The full track list will be unveiled leading up to the April 27, 2015 release date, but currently “The Streets of Whiterun” from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and “The Moon” from DuckTales have been announced.
Visit the official Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies website regularly to see which tracks will be revealed next and to hear a sample of the DuckTales “The Moon” arrangement.
“I knew right from the outset that I wanted Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies to be a series,” notes Scarlet Moon Records producer Jayson Napolitano. “I wanted to challenge GENTLE LOVE to produce an even dreamier experience this time with tracks that weren’t originally conducive to sleep, and I know fans of JRPGs and retro videogames in general are going to love the result.”
For those who want to get their hands on both Volume I and Volume II at the same time, a special promotion will be in place to include GENTLE LOVE’s arrangement from the Korean MMORPG Monarch: Heroes of a New Age Arrangements & Variations album titled “GENTLE OBLIVION” as a free bonus when purchasing both volumes together on LOUDR.
Norihiko Hibino and pianist AYAKI, known as GENTLE LOVE when performing together, have toured throughout Japan, bringing their unique therapeutic approach featuring live saxophone and piano to those in need after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. They’ve performed at a number of charity functions, and continue to explore the therapeutic applications of music as a part of the Hibino Sound Therapy Lab.
Scarlet Moon Records has many surprises in store for those who keep an eye on the official website, so stay tuned leading up to the April 27, 2015 release date.
