LOS ANGELES, CA – February 29, 2016: Wide Blue Sound announces the release of its
newest instrument ECLIPSE, available to order online beginning Monday February 29th
exclusively from WideBlueSound.com.
Following the widely successful release of ORBIT, the company’s first synth
instrument, ECLIPSE pioneers new sonic territory with sound that is darker, heavier,
more forceful and aggressive – with the same intuitive interface that Wide Blue
Sound users have come to love since their debut.
“The early response from professional composers and producers has been incredible,
and we’re excited to get ECLIPSE into the hands of our fans,” said Nathan Rightnour,
Wide Blue Sound’s CEO. “We are fortunate to have incredible depth and breadth of
talent across our latest sound design team. We can’t wait to see what composers and
musicians will create with it.”
With an all-new collection of sound sources, features, and an effects path tailored
especially for massive sound, Wide Blue Sound have developed a powerful instrument
to create rhythmic intensity, dark cinematic atmospheres, and energetic drive.
Under the hood, the synthesis engine orbits between four sound channels to create
new timbres that infinitely evolve over time, perfect for nearly every style of
modern and cinematic music. The channels can be shaped with several filter types,
followed by a custom global FX chain and four powerful sequencers that offer deep
modulation over most every element of the instrument.
At the heart of ECLIPSE’s sound engine lay the Triple Engine Design pioneered by
ORBIT – Pulse Mode creates modern tonal pulses, Chop Mode an electronic/stuttered
style, and Flow Mode for stunning pads and textures. Extensive customization of
these modes and other innovations allow sounds to be quickly turned into all kinds
of unique synths, arps, pads, and bass – an endless array of sonic possibilities.
ECLIPSE comes with 250 custom-made presets tested by top sound designers before
being approved. ECLIPSE’s timesaving interface gives users lots of powerful tools,
including sound design shortcuts, an improved Convolution Engine and a freshly tuned
“Intelligent Random” button.
“ORBIT gave composers and producers an amazing palette of unique new colors and
rhythms. There’s nothing else like it out there,” said Wide Blue Sound Founder and
composer Jeff Rona. “But we wanted to take things in a much much darker direction –
something you need all the time for scoring games and a lot of film and TV. ECLIPSE
makes some truly brooding, tense and twisted sounds that are usable and musical.”
Alongside the release of ECLIPSE, Wide Blue sound is offering free LAUNCHPAD
software for iPad and Android Tablets running Lemur (sold separately) as an added
benefit for customers. LAUNCHPAD is more than a remote, but a creative tool that
makes working with ECLIPSE and ORBIT more fun and engaging. LAUNCHPAD adds a host of
multi-touch performance possibilities that can be done live or recorded into any
DAW.
ECLIPSE retails for $149, and is available for purchase exclusively from
WideBlueSound.com. For a limited time, Wide Blue Sound
is offering ECLIPSE to new customers at an introductory price of only $119, and is
extending a special price break to all existing customers at $99. Those wishing to
purchase ORBIT and ECLIPSE together can do so for a special bundle price of $299.
